Robin Bo Carl Soderling was born to parents Bo, a lawyer, and Britt-Inge, a housewife. His older sister Sandra is a teacher. Success came early for Soderling, who won the Orange Bowl in 2001 by defeating Juan Monaco in the final. His favorite hobby is playing table tennis, and his favorite movie is "Gladiator".
