Andrea Dovizioso Biography:
Andrea Dovizioso, like most of his racing companions, started racing motorcycles at a young age. Dovizioso was introduced to the mini-moto at age four, and quickly became a fierce competitor. Dovizioso took a number of victories and soon entered the national circuit. In 2000 Dovizioso won the Aprilia Challenge at Misano, and followed that up with an extremely successful 2001, where he won both the Italian and European 125cc Championships.

With the national circuit conquered, Dovizioso moved onto the MotoGP. Dovizioso couldn't find the podium in his first year in the 125cc class, but in 2003 he earned a fifth place overall finish. It wasn't until the next season that Dovizioso would take his first win on the world circuit. Dovizioso claimed five victories in 2004, 11 podiums, and became one of the youngest riders ever to win a world championship.

After winning the 125cc championship, Dovizioso took the next step. Dovizioso was awarded the rookie of the year award in 2005 for his performance in the 250cc class, which included five podiums and a third place overall finish. Dovizioso was a prime contender for the championship in both of the following years, but finished in second both years to Jorge Lorenzo.

In 2008, Dovizioso started his premier class career. Dovizioso only has one win in the premier class so far, but he has consistently been one of the five best riders in the championship. Dovizioso is now entering his third year with the factory Honda team alongside Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner.
